How do we know this? The Quarkis Country Detector™ consists of 2 components, 1) A front-end PHP script that plugs directly into any of your website pages and 2) A back-end database that we host for you. The front-end script detects a visitors IP address then feeds it to the backend database where a quick search is performed to match it with a country. When a match is made, the results are fed back to the front-end script and displayed or utilized in any way you desire.
If in very rare instances, a match is not detected, such as when developing countries expand their internet presence and add new IP address', we flag these situations and update the database for you automatically.
The database consists of nearly 100,000 IP addresses. It took us several years to develop and we continually improve and refinine it as the internet expands. We keep this database on our servers and allow you to seamlessly tap into it from your website so you always have the most current and up-to-date IP address to Country matches possible.
